Discover Abiquiu through your own art.

We require all our 2024 workshops participants to be updated with COVID vaccines and bring a mask in case it is needed.

I welcome all levels of experience. We create work, explore surface treatments on wet clay, and bisque fire our pieces. I teach in my studio in Abiquiu, as well as around the country and internationally.

Abiquiu Workshops

Creating Space

In Abiquiu, life is simple and basic. The rawness of this area allows our personal coverings to be stripped down and the "real" to appear. Most people who come to the workshops experience new levels with their work.

There’s an incredible amount of sharing that happens and many times - lasting relationships are formed. I try to get people to think outside of what they know - get outside of their normal way of thinking and let something new come into their work.

My goal is for a person to not only have the opportunity to create work in a studio but also to be exposed to the New Mexican landscape, food, and culture. We will take walks to explore the landscape for inspiration and visit other artist studios, including the opportunity to tour the home and studio of Georgia O'Keeffe.

See the Calendar for upcoming workshops and information for how to sign up.

Georgia O’Keeffe Home and Studio Tour
Time is set aside for participants to visit O’Keeffe’s Home and Studio. The tour is not mandatory but I highly recommend it. It’s a chance to see how O’Keeffe let nature be her source for inspiration. Many students find it incredibly useful to their learning and work. I coordinate sign-up for the tour so everyone can go together.
